HOM NGUYEN at Espace YOYO, Palais de Tokyo

Tonight in Paris, Hom Nguyen will be exhibited for the first time at Espace YOYO, Palais de Tokyo, Paris, the famous exhibition space devote to Contemporary Art, near Eiffel Tower. But who is Hom Nguyen, this French artist with Asian origins ?

Hom Nguyen is a contemporary artist of Vietnamese origin, born September 20, 1972 in Paris. Through his work, he explores primarily all depths of human nature, through gestures and visual research.

In 2009, the year of the death of his mother, Hom Nguyen decided to start his own technics, and starts skating shoes, working originally as a shoes seller. After a difficult steps, he developed a technique of its own, and came to Japan to perfect his technics a few months in Tokyo, with great masters of the tattoo in Shibuya district. Back to France, his works on patinas, colors and matter do know him quickly. These works are then considered by some real “art to put on”.

Since, Hom Nguyen devotes himself to drawing and painting, and his works are increasingly exposed to the world through international contemporary art fairs. On the occasion of the 2016 edition of Art Paris Art Fair, at the Grand Palais in Paris, Mr. President of the Republic, François Hollande, came to salute the work of the artist.

At Espace YOYO, Palais de Tokyo tonight :
Represented by A2Z Art Gallery, the first contemporary art gallery created by the Chineses in Paris, Hom Nguyen will present a punch exhibition entitled “Dans le regard d’une exode” (‘in the eyes of an exodus’).

Supported by French actress Isabelle Adjani contributing to the event, Hom Nguyen will feature an art trip, inviting and rewarding current issues of cultural identity and immigration. His visual vocabulary, naive and scrawled appearance, offers to the viewer a new awareness of this social phenomenon, and a new reading of the portrait.
